Rachel Adair
Rachel is part of thee six-time state champion and one-time regional champion Starkville High School BEST robotics team. Through the participation , she has learned how to design 3-D CAD items in Auto Desk Inventor and how to cut gears on a band saw. She participates in student government and is a member of the swim and golf teams. She plans to attend Mississippi State University and major in computer engineering. |
Sarah Blanton
Sarah's future goal is to attend Mississippi State University to pursue a degree in Biomedical Engineering and a minor in Business Communications. Sarah is very interested in designing effective medical equipment to improve people's daily lives. She is considering designing prosthetics to help people. |
Yuri Talavera
Yuri says her greatest accomplishment was winning first place in the 2017 BEST Robotics Competition at regional. Her goal is to graduate with an honors diploma from Starkville High School. She then would like to attend Mississippi State University and major in Computer Science. She would also like to obtain a minor in Business. After completing her degree, she would like to start her own business in an area that she has not determined yet. |
Kari Oppedal Kari's future goal is to become involved in either the medical or engineering field. She thinks she might want to pursue Biomedical Engineering. Kari is part of many engineering organizations including 4-H, BEST and SeaPerch Robotics, National Honor Society, Girl Scouts of America, and Girls Go-Cyber-Start. |
Kathryn Walters
Kathryn plans to pursue a career in Music Therapy. She is interested in the technological aspect of music therapy including Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI). Kathryn plans to attend Mississippi State University and major in Psychology. Kathryn has been a mentor for the Cyber Security Bulldog Bytes camp for elementary girls for two years. |
Kendall French Kendall's future goal is to attend Mississippi State University and major in Chemical Engineering. She would also like to use technology to work on the global problem of our diminishing renewable fuel sources. Kendall is active in BEST Robotics at Starkville High School and Go-Cyber-Start. |
